Dagger Dolls Claim Third Place over Garda Belts 133-113

By Drewraffe

In the first bout of the night, the last place Dagger Dolls took on the Garda Belts to decide who would slip in to third place for the year and who would come in fourth.

The Garda Belts opened the bout with a 7 point jam from Second Hand Smoke, which was answered in the second jam by Jacked Pipes of the Dagger Dolls. The Dagger Dolls struggled to claim lead jammer for much of the first half, leaving them to a slowly increasing point deficit, resulting in a 87-53 Garda Belts lead at halftime.

During that halftime, Scootaloo and Killsey McMurder put on an extra show for the crowd, in a headstand-twerk vs. the worm dance off.

Whatever happened during halftime, out front or backstage, really worked for the Dagger Dolls. The ladies in pink mounted a slow comeback, owning all but 3 lead jams for the entire half. Like an unrehearsed waltz, a 1-2-3 dance from Wolfe Bite, Ova Achieva, & Jacked Pipes each took turns receiving lead jammer all but once. With hard fought offense and defense from both sides, the Dagger Dolls were able to overtake the Garda Belts with just minutes left in the second half, even with a surprise appearance from retired skater Shiva Shank’n. Going into the final jam, the Dagger Dolls were in the lead by a mere 10 points. Ova Achieva lined up on the jam line against Hal’luci-Jen of the Garda Belts, who immediately was sent to the penalty box, leaving the Dagger Dolls a chance to run out the clock and take the win with a final score of 133-113.
