Saturday February 7th, Pack Mentality: Home Team Semi-Finals, @Roy Wilkins Join On Facebook

After a hard fought season, the Golden Skate is just a few short laps around the track away! In this semi-final matchup, the #1 seed Atomic Bombshells will take on the #4 seed Dagger Dolls, and the #2 seed Rockits will battle the #3 seed Garda Belts. Winners of both bouts will take each other on in our final battle of the home season — and the stakes are high — the winner will take home the coveted Golden Skate at our Championship Bout on March 14!

We’ll be giving away a special limited edition Minnesota RollerGirls t-shirt to the first 200 people in the doors. There will also be a very limited quantity for sale. When they’re gone, they’re gone, so get there early!

GET A BLACK EYE OR SHOW YOUR TEAM SPIRIT
Get old fashioned black eyes for $1 at our Black Eye Booth, or support your favorite home team for a $2 donation (kids always free!). If you think we’ve done an exceptional job, a more generous donation is always appreciated. All proceeds go to our Black Eye Booth charity of the evening, Living Well Disability Services.

AFTER PARTY
Join us at O’Garas after the bout to hobnob with your favorite rollergirls!

BOUT CHARITY
Our season long charity is the Ann Bancroft Foundation’s Let Me Play Grant which funds athletic & dance equipment or participation fees
for girls ages 5 through high school graduation, giving them the opportunity to be part of a team, build strength and confidence, and push themselves farther—on the field and off.

DOOR CHARITY
Each bout, we select one worthy cause as our door charity for the evening. However, tonight, we have two! Our first charity is Living Well Disability Services which provides exceptional services that transform the lives of people impacted by disabilities. All proceeds collected at our Black Eye Booth will go to Living Well. I addition, we will be collecting monetary donations or gently used winter hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves for youth and teens in support of Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless. Not only will your donation get you $2 off admission at the door, but you’ll be supporting Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless, an organization that partners with those who serve people in need, growing donor engagement and increasing awareness.

TICKET DISCOUNTS
At the door only, bring your valid student ID to receive a $2 discount.
In addition, we often collect items for our door charity for a $2 discount. Tonight we’ll be collecting monetary donations or gently used winter hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves for youth and teens in support of Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless. (One discount per person per ID/Donation)

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Adam Turner describes himself as having led a “mildly adventurous life.” After younger days of world travel and adventure, his current life is filled with local craft brews, poker, competitive snow sculpting, and tattooing. He spends his days working as a creative director, and shares that he loves coming home to his lovely wife, Laura, and his wonderfully creative daughter, Addie.

Adam was introduced to the Minnesota RollerGirls when his snow sculpting team, the Snow Cowboys, were competing at the St. Paul Winter Carnival. The organizer of the event spoke very highly of us RollerGirls, and eventually this inspired Adam to enter our poster contest. His design is inspired by Northern Minnesota and his time spent as a canoe guide in the Boundary Waters. The ferocious tenacity of the wolf is a great representation of the Minnesota RollerGirls, and fits perfectly with our bout theme, Pack Mentality.
