Saturday October 21st, The Good, The Bad, The Derby: Home Team Mini-Tournament, @Roy Wilkins Auditorium Join On Facebook

It’s our home opener for Season 14, and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off another year of hard-hitting and fast flat track roller derby!

As traditional holds, our first bout of the evening will be a mini-tournament to show off our new rookie skaters and to provide a glimpse into which team just might end up raising the Golden Skate above their heads at the end of the season!

The first bout of the evening will feature the Dagger Dolls taking on the Garda Belts. The next will match up the Atomic Bombshells against the Rockits. Winners of each mini-bout will then battle it out to win the mini-tournament and take home the Gilded Steak!

Get old fashioned black eyes for $1 at our Black Eye Booth, or support your favorite home team for a $2 donation (kids always free!). If you think we’ve done an exceptional job, a more generous donation is always appreciated. All proceeds go to our Black Eye Booth charity, which we’re partnering with all season long, Shoe Away Hunger.

AFTER PARTY
Join us after the bout at Tom Reid’s Hockey City Pub to hobnob with your favorite rollergirl!

BOUT CHARITY
Our season long bout charity is the Ann Bancroft Foundation’s Let Me Play Grant which funds athletic & dance equipment or participation fees for girls ages 5 through high school graduation, giving them the opportunity to be part of a team, build strength and confidence, and push themselves farther—on the field and off. We love the Ann Bancroft Foundation and the amazing work they do to empower girls in athletics!

DOOR CHARITY
All season long, we’re maintaining a relationship with an exceptional organization! Each bout, we will be collecting new or gently used shoes of any kind at the door to support Shoe Away Hunger, which is a segment of Good in the ‘Hood. Good in the ‘Hood is a nonprofit charity that offers essential groceries and hot meals for more than 4000 people each month. Through their Shoe Away Hunger program they host shoe drives in order to collect new and gently used footwear. The very best of these new and gently-used shoes are sold on their shoe bus mobile thrift store for a $5.00 suggested donation. The proceeds are dedicated to purchase groceries to support hungry families in need. Every time they sell a pair of shoes, they’re able to feed 1 more hungry person with up to 7 days worth of essential groceries. They encourage everyone to put their best foot forward by cleaning out their closet for this cause.

TICKET DISCOUNTS
At the door only, bring your valid student ID to receive a $2 discount.
In addition, if you bring in a pair of new or gently used shoes to support our door charity, Shoe Away Hunger, you will receive a $2 discount off your ticket at the door!
