Athletic Background:
I spent most of my youth and young adulthood as a gymnast. After crotching the balance beam for the 1,000th time I decided to take up the sport of snowboarding. It wasn’t long before I found the terrain park, and instead of crotching a balance beam I was crashing off rails and jumps.
These experiences really prepared me for all the falls and crashes I am enduring in my new sport: roller derby.
Perhaps I should just invent a sport where the purpose is to fall down…
In my spare time I dabble in the great sports of parkour, kickball and curling. Oh, and I’ve been known to run a half marathon or two…or five.
