Bout Preview: Seeing Double: the Preview

Last year, the Minnesota RollerGirls joined forces with the Minnesota Swarm for a spectacular doubleheader of WFTDA and National Lacrosse League action. The Swarm defeated the Washington Stealth in overtime, while the MNRG All-Stars smooshed the Dairyland Dolls of Madison, WI 196-74.
The Swarm have offered their field again – and this time, the MNRG will be playing a rebout of last month’s incredible Dagger Dolls/Rockits championship match.
Here’s the rundown:
The bout:
The Swarm (3-2 in the NLL’s Western Conference) take the field against the Colorado Mammoth (5-0 in the West) at 7pm. At the conclusion of that game (apparently they call their bouts ‘games’), the field will be rolled up…uncovering the track for the Dagger Dolls and Rockits!
The tickets:
Tickets are $22 or $27 for the doubleheader and are available from Derby 4 All, Shameless Inc, and the Electric Fetus until the 15th. They can also be purchased from the Swarm’s website – make sure to use the code ‘roller’ to get the discount.
The players:
This bout has some differences; some of the Atomic Bombshells and Garda Belts have requested to be in on the action this weekend. As some players were unavailable to play, ABS and Garda skaters alike jumped on the open spots on the roster.

The Minnesota RollerGirls took to the track in a familiar bout on March 31st as the league’s veterans (playing as the “Mayo Clinicians”) attempted to go 2-0 against those newest to roller derby (the “State Fair Foodies”). After falling behind in the first half, the Foodies outscored the veterans 85 to 12 in the second to win the match 116-80.
