Meet the Teams
Home Teams
The Minnesota RollerGirls are made up of four “home teams” comprised of up to twenty active skaters each. These are the Atomic Bombshells, Dagger Dolls, Garda Belts, and Rockits. The league was founded with these four teams, although the Rockits were known as the Silver Bullets for the inaugural season. “Home season” play means that each of these teams plays against each other in two matchups per night.
All-Star Team
Three times each year, active home team skaters have the opportunity to try out for the All-Star team, which is the league’s interleague traveling team. This team of elite skaters from the home teams becomes our “best of the best” team that trains together year-round and travels across the country for sanctioned WFTDA bouts throughout the year. In the fall of each year, if rankings permit, the All-Star team travels to the North Central Regional Tournament for a round-robin elimination from which the top three teams advance to the annual national championships. The locations of these tournaments changes each year along with the invited teams.
Theme Teams
During the All-Star season, February-April, when we bring in other top-notch traveling teams from around the country, you may see some of your home team skaters take part in what we call “theme teams.” These bout are an opportunity for skaters to mix and mingle with girls from other home teams and play fun, themed, exhibition games to alternate with the All-Star bouts.
So now that you know a little about how we’re comprised, go ahead and meet the teams!
