Wheelie Award Voting is Open!

Things are being run a little differently this year. As a newsletter subscriber, you are being invited to participate in exclusive online voting for this year's Wheelie Awards. The categories are the same -- Most Underrated, RollerGirl You Most Want to Land in Your Lap, and Crowd Favorite. But this year, we had paper ballot voting at the last two bouts of the year and now you get to cast your vote online.

Go to the online voting, enter the email address that you get the newsletter at, and cast your vote. Only one vote is allowed per invited email address, which means no cheating. Yippee!

Act fast! Voting closes at midnight on Monday, May 7.

Help us raise $8000 for the Animal Humane Society

C'mon folks. We know you can do better than that! We've raised a little over $1000 so far, which is pretty awesome we do admit, but it would only take $10 from each of you to help us reach that $8000 goal! $10. That's two venti lattes. One movie ticket. A couple of happy hour beers. Help us help the critters.

Our goal of $8000 would be enough to buy: diagnostic equipment and lighting for the surgical team, an anesthesia machine for the mobile spay/neuter unit, and provide x-rays for four injured animals.

Get yer' Golden Skate winner trading cards

Wheelie Awards ... join us after the show

The 3rd Annual Wheelie Awards are approaching fast and we know that you'll be itching to find out who all the winners are. We'll post the winners the week following the awards and we'll be featuring the winners on the home page throughout the summer, but in case you want to find out the day of, well you can come on down to Keiran's at 10pm on Saturday, May 12 and find out first-hand who skated away with the awards this year.

RESERVE YOUR TICKETS FOR NEXT SEASON
We're taking reservations for next year's season, and it's gonna be a good one. We'll be having a bunch of visiting teams in the fall, but they'll be playing against our regular home teams this time around. In the winter, our all-star traveling team will hit the track for some competitions against other all-star teams from around the country. Then in the early spring, we'll have our four home teams battling it out for the Golden Skate. Who will the winner be? No one can say at this point, but we know there are a lot of win-hungry skaters out there and there might even be a few fresh faces next season.
