Featured RollerGirl, April 2006: Dee Dee Monic is a force to reckon with on the rink. Her skills as a pivot have been strong since the beginning, but this season, she's stepped up and taken them to a new level. All you have to do is watch the path of destruction and laid-out girls behind her to know how tough she is on the track. But her contributions go far beyond game play. Dee Dee recruits, coordinates, and schedules the bands for all of our events, which is no small feat. She's often the very first person to show up at the Roy on bout night so that she can greet the band and help with sound check, and you'll find her there long after the crowd has left helping to tear down. And does she go home then? Nope, she's off to the after-party to support those bands and she stays until the bitter end. She's a helluva trooper.

More dirt about yourself:
I am just a simple farm girl trying to make it in the big city.
I was raised on a farm north of Moorhead where I spent most of my time fighting with my big brother. We were both
in wrestling and he taught me how to make people hurt-bad. There were a couple of years when I had to act like a
little lady, but that didn’t last very long. When I moved here I started getting into bar fights so when I
saw roller derby I jumped at the chance to knock around other girls with out getting into trouble for it. That is
when the lovely Dagger Dolls took me under their wings and taught me how to fight on roller skates and Dee Dee Monic was
born. Don’t mess with my girls, otherwise I’ll mess you up.
